Private Clients
Foreign individuals who settle in Turkey, acquire real estate here or are involved in an estate as heirs face legal questions that differ from those of companies but are no less detailed. We do not look at these questions in isolation but as a connected whole, from residence permits and the acquisition of property to the relocation of residence and the settlement of estates. Our advice is provided in English, German and Turkish.
Residence and Work Permits
Applications for short-term or long-term residence permits, family reunification and work permits in Turkey are subject to different requirements and supporting documents depending on the applicant’s situation. We assist with the preparation of applications, with objections and court actions against refusals, and with the renewal of existing permits.
Relocating to Turkey
Moving one’s residence to Turkey raises several interrelated questions, including residence law, social security and tax residence. We clarify the legal framework of the move and plan the necessary registrations and applications; tax matters are handled in coordination with tax advisers.
Private Real Estate
The acquisition of apartments or holiday homes in Turkey by foreign individuals is based on the principle of reciprocity and subject to certain regional restrictions. We accompany our clients in reviewing the land register and zoning status before the purchase, represent them before the land registry and advise on tenancies and on the sale of the property. For inherited real estate, the matter is handled together with our inheritance law practice.
