Background

Dr. Christian Reichmann is a partner at Schindhelm in Osnabrück, where he has been practising since 2018, and is a managing partner since 2025.

Following his admission to the bar in 2011, he worked until the end of 2017 at Hogan Lovells International LLP in Düsseldorf, focusing on M&A and corporate law.

He studied law at the University of Osnabrück, where he completed his doctorate between 2006 and 2008 under Prof. Dr. Andreas Fuchs and worked as a research assistant at the Institute for Commercial and Business Law. In 2008, he completed a Master of Laws (LL.M.) at Victoria University of Wellington, New Zealand.


Christian Reichmann advises domestic and international clients on all aspects of corporate and commercial law. A key focus of his practice is the formation of and investment in German companies.

He is co-author of the Handbook on Disputes in Mergers & Acquisitions and the Handbook on Corporate Law Disputes (both Carl Heymanns Verlag). In addition, he advises on financing and security agreements.

Another focus of his practice is insolvency and restructuring law, advising insolvency administrators, creditors, and distressed companies, including avoidance claims.

  • Advising the shareholders of a leading car component supplier regarding the intended sale of the company by way of an auction.
  • Advising a leading Japanese car manufacturer regarding the intended sale of its captive credit institution.
  • Issuing expert opinions on potential personal liability of managing directors; including corporate investigations and enforcement of respective claims.
  • Advising credit institutions, financial services providers and insurers in respect of ownership control procedures, the appointment of managing directors and disputes with the competent supervisory authorities.
